To welcome change, the mind needs to be trained to be flexible, open-minded, & adaptable to different circumstances.

This edition includes a lot of steps for change, so give yourself a heads up.

Step 1: Having The Right Mindset

Your mindset is like a compass on your journey, it serves as the the guiding force. It can either propel you towards success or hinder it.

There are two types of mindsets: growth & fixed.

A growth mindset is the belief that one can develop and improve their abilities through effort and learning.

A fixed mindset, on the other hand, holds the belief that abilities are fixed and cannot be changed.

Having a growth mindset is essential to the success of your self-development journey.

The best way to develop a growth mindset is to do the following:

  • Challenge yourself to try things out of your comfort zone

  • Embrace failure as an opportunity to learn & grow

  • Practice self-reflection

Step 2: Good Mental Health

Good mental health lays the foundation for your personal growth journey.

A weak foundation will always fail & take you back to ground zero.

A strong foundation reinforces it for a lifetime.

Having good mental health helps to:

  • Approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset

  • Maintain and foster positive relationships

  • Make better decisions

There are three things you can do now to start bettering your mental health:

  1. Meditation

  2. Gratitude

  3. Stop over-consuming short form media (TikTok, Youtube Shorts, etc.)

Step 3: Good Physical Health

Having good physical health improves your cognitive function, confidence, and lead an overall healthier life.

Here are four steps you can take now to better your physical health:

  1. Getting quality hours of sleep (see my previous article)

  2. Investing in quality nutrition (whole foods > processed foods)

  3. Daily exercise (cardio & resistance training)

  4. Hormone regulation (talk to a trusted medical professional)

Step 4: Get Some Sun!

Just go outside lol.

It is important to gain exposure to sunlight daily because it is a major source of vitamin D, which is essential for the body to absorb calcium and maintain healthy bones. Please make sure to be safe & wear sunscreen!

Sunlight also plays a role in regulating the body's circadian rhythm, which helps to keep a consistent sleep cycle.

Step 5: Read More!

Read, Read, Read!

In today's fast-paced world, it can be difficult to focus and concentrate for long periods of time.

Here is why you should make reading a habit:

  • Forced active focus

  • Mental break from constant distractions of technology & social media

  • Improve cognitive function

  • Improve memory

  • Improve attention span

Make it a goal to read a certain amount of pages everyday.
